Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park in Southam?

Free street parking is available along Coventry Street or a free car park on Wood Street (CV47 1PP) is a three minute walk.

Where do I report at Southam?

Enter Tithe place through the main entrance, opposite Lloyds Bank, my door is the first on the right and ring the doorbell.

What should I wear?

Loose comfortable clothing. It will be necessary to uncover the body part to be treated. A vest/crop top is ideal for shoulders and neck. Shorts for hips and knees.

What will happen in my first session?

Your physiotherapist will introduce themselves. After we have confirmed some details we then ask you questions about your condition/the reason why you are here and we will listen to what you have to say. We will then assess your complaint (which usually involved the removal of some clothing in order to expose the problem area). We will explain to you what we have found on assessment and diagnose your complaint.

How long will I be?

Typically the first session can take 30-40 minutes. Subsequent sessions usually take 25-30 minutes.

Will you be on time?

Usually! We try to keep to our appointment times, but the nature of our work can make this difficult at times. If you have been kept waiting 5 minutes past your appointment time please RING THE DOORBELL & KNOCK.

Will I be treated on my first session?

We will usually start some treatment on your first visit; we will always give you some exercise/stretches or advice to go away with as this is part of your rehabilitation.

Can someone accompany me?

You are welcome to ask anyone to accompany into the treatment room.

Will my insurance company pay?

Unfortunately we will not know the answer to this. The details of your insurance policy are between yourself and the insurance company. It would be best to find out the details before you come to an appointment. If you are not sure you can always pay us directly and we give you a receipt for you to claim it back. If you have contacted your insurance company they will usually give you a reference number and we can invoice the company direct for payment quoting your reference number.

How much will it costs?

We offer a discounted rate for those who pay on the day of treatment.  We are able to take card payments. These rates are £45 for the initial session and £45 for subsequent/follow up sessions.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes.

Will you tell anyone that I have been to see you?

We do write to your GP on discharge, as professional courtesy, so that they know we have treated you. But if you ask us specifically not to we won’t.

When are you open?

Usually 5 days a week, including 2 evening sessions. Our Southam Clinic is open some Saturday mornings.

I'm not sure whether I need Physio, How do I know if you can help me?

The best thing to do if you’re not sure is to call us. The receptionist will take your message and a Chartered Physiotherapist will call you back ASAP to discuss it with you over the telephone. We are happy to offer any advice or help over the phone.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can refer yourself for treatment. Many of our patients are recommended to us by their GP or Consultant, and will bring along a referral letter, but this is not essential.

Can I book online?

Yes, please use the book an appointment link at the top of the page.
